Nabil Ghamin Miskinyar :born 26 September 1948 is an Afghan TV host who currently runs a TV channel from United States called Ariana Afghanistan TV. In his earlier years, Nabil Miskinyar was well known as the lead drummer in Ahmad Zahir's band known as "The Elvis" of Afghanistan. Received his education in Russia and The United States Nabil Miskinyar left Afghanistan in 1978 after the Soviet Occupation and ended up in Washington DC where he worked as a Journalist and Politician as well as working closely with the late King Mohammad Zahir Shah as a consultant. Dynamic leadership career as CEO of successful media start-up (Ariana Afghanistan Television). Combine astute strategic, media, business, journalism, and financial skills with a 35+ year track record. 1.Ariana Afghanistan, Inc. Founder – CEO, Executive Producer
Chief responsibilities are to host and produce nationally syndicated news programs as well as write and edit material on a variety of Afghan Socio-Political affairs for TV and Radio Show. Prepare packing segment, on air offers and notices. Develop produce and deliver analytical and editorial material for features. Research, report and produce journalistic content for Ariana Media’s website
www.E-Ariana.com. Provide outreach to and a voice for the Afghan Community. Write, produce and announce material for Ariana Afghanistan TV as well host the number one most viewed TV show on the channel. Created all training programs for new hires in order to strengthen our target audience and increase profitability. Assure timely and proper presentation of material to production manager and communication coordinator. Accompany correspondents on field missions to identify topics and relevant issues dealing with Afghan news. Assist in the conception, production an implementation of the given communication strategy for all programming (Currently 13 TV Shows). Created and managed corporate identity for Ariana Afghanistan Television. Designed and implemented trade ad and PR campaign to support channel distribution and international advertising sales. Handle day to day operations as well as P&L responsibility including business operations, sales, marketing, product development, and financials.
2.Ariana Afghanistan, Inc. Producer Manager Provided support for afghan National Solidarity Program, Afghanistan (NSP) where NSP provided needed means for the reestablishment of local social and physical infrastructure. Established clear guidelines regarding the production of features, news reports, documentaries and all relevant styles of journalism as requested by the communication coordinator. Designed training workshops carried out daily radio scriptwriters, upon request. Drafted a bi-monthly report, intensively practiced interview techniques with correspondents and editors in headquarters and on the field. Executed the plan of the communications Department per training to all journalistic productions, acted as a liaison officer with all partners participating in the NSO/OC, assisted in the gathering and updating of all relevant information read\searched by the NSP correspondent network,
3.RAND Corporation Provided Twenty three hours of dubbing (translations from English to Farsi) for Sesame Street programs for the Ministry of Education in Afghanistan. This was played on all local TV stations in Afghanistan and also used for educational purposes at local elementary schools throughout Kabul.
4.Radio Free Europe – Afghanistan Media Freelancer Journalists Wrote produced and was the lead anchorman for Radio Free Europe on Afghan Affairs. Planned and developed newsworthy stories through research and interviews with key involved sources. Conducted continuous fact checks and edited data for stories using news archives and press briefings. Performed interviews concerning current and previous historical events. 5.Voice of Afghan Mujaheddin Writer/Editor Wrote, produced and announced material for Voice of Afghan Mujahedin, a U.S. project during the invasion of Afghanistan by the former Soviet Union. Areas of focus were Iran, Russia and Pakistan with extensive knowledge gained while researching and passing this on for Voice of Afghan Mujahedin to use for programming purposes. 6. Radio Kabul, Afghanistan Senior Producer and Broadcast Journalist While working on a contractual basis hosted and produced daily news segments. Over saw the developments of news segments and expanded the coverage of the existing programs through creative and strategic planning. Managed and directed a staff of junior journalists as well as mentored and trained groups to foster creativity and journalism efficacy.
7.Ministry of Information and Culture, Kabul, Afghanistan Director of Foreign Relations
Worked closely with foreign countries and the Minister of Foreign Affairs to gain scholarships for Afghan Students to travel abroad in order to obtain foreign cultural skills as well as furthering their education. Responsible for reporting all day to day activities to Minister of Information and keeping all members of staff up to date daily activities.
